Kaush founded Rakhit Petroleum Consulting Ltd. (RPCL) in 1989, which became internationally known for its integrated hydrodynamics work and unconventional gas studies. RPCL purchased and merged with Canadian Discovery Ltd. in 2005. Under Kaush’s leadership, CDL grew to be one of the largest data providers for Western Canada, in addition to producing hundreds of technical articles, studies and consulting projects. Kaush also co-founded and has been a director of numerous highly successful junior E&P companies including Groundwater Solutions Ltd. (now Matrix Solutions Inc.), Vicana Ridge Resources, Kinwest Resources Corp., Seven Generations Energy Ltd. and CODA Petroleum Inc. Kaush earned his B.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the University of Waterloo and was the first person to earn a post-graduate degree (M.Sc.) in Petroleum Hydrogeology from the University of Alberta.
Matt has over 15 years of experience in oil & gas industry database and application development. As a database architecture specialist, he has played a key role in numerous high profile initiatives at CDL, including the development of CDL’s EDGE software, Well Completions & Frac Database and Catalyst application. In his current role as Managing Director—Data, Matt oversees and guides CDL’s Data Division day-to-day operations and continual development. He manages the Data Analytics team responsible for the development and continued quality of CDL’s databases and platforms as well as the information services and technology group. Matt holds a diploma in Computer Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Mark is a Professional Engineer with over 25 years of varied engineering, operational and executive experience in the Canadian energy industry. Currently, he is Managing Director—Intelligence (Interim) and Engineering Director at Canadian Discovery where his responsibilities include managing publications and products within the Intelligence Division, overall direction of engineering and analytics projects and co-leading Strategic Services consulting. Mark began his career with Amoco Canada and worked as an executive or manager at ENCO Gas, Manhattan Resources, Rising Tide Oil and Gas and Paramount Energy Trust. He holds a B.Sc. (Petroleum Engineering) from the University of Alberta, a B.A. (Economics) and an M.Ec. (Economics) from the University of Calgary.
Paul brings over 20 years of experience of progressively senior financial and leadership positions with Alberta Energy Corporation, Natural Gas Clearinghouse, PrimeWest Energy and Trident Resources Corp. His expertise includes corporate development, financing (debt/equity), acquisitions/divestures, investor relations, risk management, marketing and legal affairs. Paul has been with CDL since 2012 and currently leads corporate and strategic development with overall responsibility for finance, sales, marketing, administration and human resources. He holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Oklahoma City University and a MBA in Finance from the Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto.
Meridee joined Canadian Discovery in 2005 working with both CDL's Intelligence and Expertise groups as well as with data management and GIS personnel to streamline geological mapping techniques. Currently, as Technical Analysis Director, Meridee plays a key role in Intelligence projects and products, including developing, editing and managing content for Discovery Digest and Digest Spark, CDL's monthly and bi-monthly publications. She has worked with Amoco in Calgary, Houston and London, gaining experience in Canadian and international exploration and development. Meridee holds a B.Sc. (Geological Engineering) from the University of Saskatchewan and an Applied Bachelor of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Nancy joined the Expertise Division at CDL in 2012, leading business development of Quantitative Seismic Interpretation and Geoscience Consulting services and later overseeing the division as Managing Director. As Marketing Director, Nancy now oversees the marketing and strategic planning for the company. She worked as an industry geophysicist for 10 years before pursuing film and television production. For 17 years, Nancy produced award winning feature films, television movies, documentaries and factual series for Canadian and international markets. She returned to geosciences as CEO of Sound QI in 2010 before it was acquired by CDL in 2012. Nancy holds a Bachelor and Masters of Applied Science in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
